Abrasion Resistant Steel Plates.
We supply proven, abrasion-resistant steel plates in grades AR 400, AR 450 and AR 500 in thickness range 3mm to 150mm for parts subject to high mechanical loads and abrasion. Plates are applicable for use in superstructures for trucks, dump truck beds, buckets, mining and industrial machines, chutes, conveyor hoppers, dredging components, cutters, farming equipment and various other applications that are subject to high mechanical stress and heavy abrasion.
THE ADVANTAGES
LONGER LIFE
As a result of their high hardness, abrasion-resistant steel plates have a wear resistance many times higher than that of conventional steels.
LESS WEIGHT
Due to the high hardness compared to conventional steels, the thickness of abrasion-resistant plates can be reduced significantly. This leads to lower dead weights and higher payloads.
EXCELLENT WELDABILITY
Abrasion-resistant plates can be welded without problems. Due to the relatively low carbon content a preheating temperature as low as 50° C is sufficient in inert gas welding with solid wires for crack-free welded joints. No preheating is needed for grade AR 400 up to 20mm thickness.
EXCELLENT CUTTING
Abrasion-resistant plates can be cut satisfactorily with standard oxy-gas equipment, plasma cut or laser cut.
