Use

Drilmax is Vallourec Precision Etirage's trademark for the range of products dedicated to the manufacturer of diamond core drill rods, core barrels and casings.  Drilmax tubes have been designed specifically for drilling industry and therefore meet the most demanding requirements in terms of straightness, concentricity and yield strength.

Dimensional range and tolerances

Drilmax tubes are manufactured to internationally accepted dimensions and tolerances, in a range covering OD 0.98" to 7.007", to suit the most widely used wireline and conventional rods, core barrels and casings designs.

Lengths

Drilmax tubes are usually supplied in cut lengths of 10ft (3m), with tollerances of -0 +1/8" (-0 +3mm).  Random or longer cut lengths are also available.

Straightness

Drilmax tubes are delivered with a 1/25":240" (1mm:6000mm) tolerance, with special attention to the tube ends.

Testing, inspection and mill certificates

Drilmax tubes undergo non-destructive testing, by a surface concentrated eddy current technique.  Test certificates showing chemical analysis and mechanical properties are supplied with all products (EN 10204-3.1.B).

Packing

Drilmax tubes are oiled internally and externally, and hexagonally bundled for protection during shipment.

Low residual hoop stress

Vallourec Precision Etirage's Drilmax 730 can be delivered with low residual hoop stress - maximum 80 MPa- on BQ, NQ and HQ dimensions. Drilmax 730 with low residual hoop stress is principally designed for difficult drilling conditions.  Additional information on this highly advanced product is available upon request.

Vallourec Precision Etirage also manufacture special grades to satisfy individual customer requirements.  This special seamless cold drawn tubing used in the manufacture of drill rods, casings and barrels.
